Once the 10-session package has been purchased, the student can use their sessions as they see fit. The course is continuous, so each session has participants at all levels. We use an exercise book that each student works at their own pace.

This is the 30th year that we’ve been helping people turn their fear into confidence. Progressive exposure allows you to face fear in manageable stages, at your own pace, in a supportive environment. Instructors Charles di Cagno and Kyra Smith are phobia therapists and past and current directors of public speaking at White Plains Hospital Anxiety Treatment Center in the United States.

Regardless of your level of public speaking, we can help you improve. For people with anxiety, we offer progressive exposure to public speaking through a basic to more advanced exercise scale. For the more experienced, it is a platform adapted to your specific needs to improve various delivery techniques. It adapts at your own pace, in a low pressure, supportive environment, with plenty of feedback to address your specific issues. Start with basic exercises and only move forward when you are ready.

The course is continuous, with a mix of beginner and advanced students. Our hope is that you are inspired, not intimidated by the dynamic speakers present, and keep in mind that they started out with the same fears, progressing to their current level through constant effort. The course is not difficult. If you have the will, we offer you a way to turn a liability into your most powerful asset. The real challenge is to admit that you need the guidance, to jump in and make a committed and consistent effort.

Our 100% 20-year success rate for wedding speeches is just one indication of our effectiveness. But whatever the challenge (formal presentation, group discussion, business meeting, sales, confrontation, job interview), the program is personalized to fit your needs.

Example of a gradual exposure program for public speaking anxiety:

First session – Be comfortable hearing your voice in public by answering very simple questions while seated. The questions (ie name, occupation, where you live, etc.) require little thought or content.

Second session – Learn to stand confidently in front of a group. You will stand with several others and answer simple questions. As your confidence increases, one by one each person standing will sit down, until you are alone. You will continue until you feel comfortable.

Third Session – This exercise is the same as the previous one, except you start by standing on your own.

Session four – Gestures and movement. Improve your message, decrease tension, and project confident behavior incorporating non-verbal skills.

Session 5 – Apply skills learned in session 4 by telling personal experience using gestures and movements to enhance your story.

Sixth session – Answer questions. Open the floor to questions on a topic of choice.

Seventh session – Impromptu speaking. Learn how to organize and deliver an unprepared presentation (without notes).

Session Eight – Prepared Speech (Instructor Guided). Learn the secret to describing and delivering a prepared speech with minimal effort or stress.

Session nine – Speech prepared. Describe and deliver a speech without assistance.

Once you have mastered the above, you can begin to simulate all kinds of interpersonal and public communications, including:

Talk persuasive
Round table
Conflict resolution
Defend your position
discuss
Initiate and maintain a conversation
As well as many others
We look forward to working with you.
