Sharjah: The sudden, global outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) has underscored the immense value and importance of developing collective consciousness through effective government communication. Aware of this key element of effective governance, the 10thedition of the International Government Communication Forum (IGCF) will host a timely and topical discussion titled, Governmental communication methodologies and their impact on collective consciousness, in September27 at the Sharjah Exhibition Center.

A panel of experts will meet to highlight key and emerging strategies for raising awareness and educating the public through various government communication tools and methods, starting with speech-making; choose the type of speech, the language and the moment according to a situation; as well as choosing the most effective method of communication.

The session will also review the models used to raise collective consciousness and explore ways to ensure that the intended effect and immediate response is achieved.

Moderated by Faisal bin Huraiz, presenter, Sky News Arabia, the session will feature prominent figures including Amjad Taha, Bahrain-based regional director of the British Middle East Center for Studies and Research; Kuwaiti journalist and media advisor to the Kuwait Journalists Association, Muhammad Al-Mulla; Sami Al-Riyami, editor-in-chief of Emarat al Youm journal and member of the Sharjah Government Communication Award jury.

The Global Forum, hosted by IGCF and hosted by the International Government Communication Center (IGCC), a branch of the Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB), from September 26-27, 2021, at Expo Center Sharjah, will be held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, member of the Supreme Council and Sovereign of Sharjah.

Under the theme ‘Historical Lessons, Future Ambitions’, IGCF 2021 will welcome leading global thinkers, senior government officials and communications experts from across the Arab region as well as around the world to lead discussions and offer ideas. to improve the preparation of government communication. teams for future challenges resulting from unpredictable global scenarios.

Since its inception in 2012, IGCF has successfully improved government communication in the UAE and the Arab world and developed channels of communication between governments and communities.
