A portfolio is divided into different sections, including core project work, sharing and helping, leadership activities, community service, other activities, and support materials.

It allows young people to present all their activities in different clubs and organizations.

After portfolios are submitted, they are judged by University of Georgia extension staff from across the state.

Young people then create a presentation related to the area of the project.

For example, if a young person chooses “sport” as the project area, the presentation can be on any sport-related topic.

Oral presentations are presented using posters and props in front of a jury. The duration of the presentation is generally 8 to 10 minutes.

However, there are several projects that do not require an oral presentation. Culinary projects that ask young people to prepare a healthy meal or snack.

Performing arts projects require a performance such as singing, dancing, or playing a musical instrument.

This competition will take place at the Rock Eagle 4-H Center from March 11-13. Winners from all areas of the project will be announced this weekend.

The portfolio score is combined with the presentation score, and the overall total score determines the winner in each project area.
