PRINCE FREDERICK, Maryland – June 2, 2022 – The Calvert County Department of Public Safety, Emergency Communications Division, was recently named the winner of the 2022 Tyler Technologies Public Sector Achievement Award, for deploying enterprise public safety and mobile field of Tyler’s fire in an innovative and impactful way.

Calvert County Emergency Communications handled 105 emergency calls quickly and efficiently during a chaotic winter storm that blocked roads, snapped trees in half and downed power lines. Carriers used a mapping tool within Enterprise Public Safety and features of Fire Field Mobile to map these hazards. First responders on the street were able to view this map in real time for better situational and safety awareness and enabled them to reroute service calls themselves, freeing up dispatchers to take more calls at the 911.

Submissions for the Tyler Excellence Award were judged by a diverse panel of Tyler executives, who selected 29 public sector customers as winners from a wide range of applicants who demonstrated excellence in development, deploying or maintaining Tyler solutions within their jurisdictions in an innovative way. Winners were honored at the annual Tyler Connect User Conference in Indianapolis in May, where they were recognized in front of more than 4,100 of their public sector peers.
