A candidate for the presidency of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), former vice-president Atiku Abubakar on Sunday evening appointed a crisis communication expert, Mr Phrank Shaibu, as special assistant in charge of public communication and The strategy.

His appointment is contained in a statement issued in Abuja by Atiku media advisor Mazi Paul Ibe.
The statement said Shaibu will need to engage firmly with the Nigerian public throughout the period of election campaigns that begin Monday (tomorrow) in Sokoto State.
“Through strong engagement with the Nigerian public, Shaibu is expected to project Alhaji Atiku Abubakar’s vision for Nigeria and his action plan to achieve it as summarized in his policy document, TheAtikuPlan,” the communicated.
Shaibu, an expert in crisis communication, has extensive experience spanning two decades, having served as a media consultant to the former Governor of Delta State, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan; Adviser to former Governor Ibrahim Idris of Kogi State and Director of Communications to former Governor of Kogi State, Idris Wada of Kogi Wada State.
